b d designs

sterling silver with natural amethyst and peridot . (( Secret Garden Ring )) .
"My work is an accumulation of years of study, experimentation, inspiration and the JOY of working with metal! All of my work is created using traditional metalsmithing techniques, commonly called fabrication. These are the same techniques that metalsmiths have been passing down from generation to generation for hundreds of years. It is a legacy of metalwork and I am very proud to be part of that history. I hope you enjoy viewing what I enjoyed creating! I add new pieces each week, so stop back often! On the personal side, I am a wife (of 19 years) and a mother of two wonderful children, ages 14 and 7. They are the inspiration behind my Mother's line of jewelry and a source of joy and inspiration every day of my life. Everything I do, I do for my family and each piece of jewelry I make, I make as if it were for my own family...so you get the very best from me each time you order from me! I live in the woods in Ohio, and I grew up in the woods of Pennsylvania, so a lot of what you see in my shop is nature-inspired as well! I learned about perennial gardening from my mother at an early age and my love of all things green and growing finds its' way into my work constantly! I feel that a lot of my designs grow organically out of that love of nature."

2 of 2

Small geometric birch house framework, 3D architectural line drawing
"As siblings, growing up we did everything together - from roadtrips to swim team to skipping school. And as adults, nothing has changed! 2of2 was was opened in honor of our late mother, Patty, who taught us that the wonder of childhood can stay with you in life if you let your imagination pave the way. Originally named Patty Dear, we changed our shop name to 2of2 because we have found again and again that it is the second draft of a design that we fall in love with (only fitting that it was the second name of our shop that stuck!) Poofy Dove

Obadiah the owl, original soft sculpture
"I just recently graduated from Miami University in Ohio, with a BFA in painting and printmaking. I love making art, sewing, and being outside. My shop PoofyDove was created as a place to share my whimsical creations. I really love to expand my creative energy over a wide range of materials, so you will see a large range of products offered in my store! I gain my inspiration from a lot of different sources. If I had to choose one thing that has the greatest impact on my art it would have to be God's creation, the natural world around us. I believe that the purest and most profound beauty can be found there. If there is something that you don't see in my store, I would love to do any custom orders and commissions you may have. Also, if you have any questions for me at all I would love to hear from you!"

Vintage Chase

Handmade Large Brown Leather Bag with Vintage Embroidery Accents
"I'm a born and bred California girl, colleged on the East Coast, spent some time in Central America, lived on an Island in Washington and then circled back to California. I've been creating, sewing, designing for as long as I can remember, as my mother did before me, and her mother before her. Lucky for me my mother could look at anything and figure out how to make a pattern from that vision, luckier for me I seem to be able to do the same thing. I seem to be happiest designing, creating, and sharing that vision. I have been in the textile business for the past 15 years, creating, writing, copywriting and publishing contemporary quilt patterns. This exciting pursuit has taken me to trade and retail shows across the country and to England to teach and sell my patterns (Chase Adams Designs). During this time I started to notice that once a fabric was down to several yards on the bolt it was usually thrown out, ending in landfills. With this in mind I went back to my studio and began designing handbags from discarded decorator fabric and recycled leather, plus vintage kimono's and scarfs for the linings. Using the skills that I learned from a Master Level Leather class while in college, couture and quilt making techniques I was taught as a child, plus antique brass pieces and embroidery sourced from Europe, Vintage Chase was born! We are excited to be part of the eco-designer community that is striving to have our product represent as close to 100% recyled/upcycled as possible. Please take the time to visit my second store ChaseVintage.etsy.com, where I am offering an eclectic mix of vintage items for your home, and our upcoming online store at www.ChasingVintage.com. Also please visit my oldest daughters RiordanStudio.etsy.com She has a beautiful selection of vintage estate jewelry. Ahh, love it when things come full circle!"

Lilla Jizo

Beach Glass, Kanzeon Bodhisattva (Kuan Yin, the Bodhisattva of Compassion)
"Lilla Jizo is Swedish for Little Jizo. Jizo is a helper and protector in Japanese Buddhism, pictured as a wandering monk and often with childlike appearance. Traditionally, he is the helper and protector of women, children and travellers. Since we are all travellers between Birth and Death, that means everyone is included... His vow is to not stop his efforts as long as there is still a single being suffering in the world. I chose my name Lilla Jizo because I have a strong personal connection to this being, and he often appears in my art, as you will notice if you visit my shop."

Rose Plaid Capelet in Wool// Toggle closure
"Because of the women in my vast Dominican family, I grew up loving fabric and the idea that you could create virtually anything you wanted with it. After having worked in NY City's fashion district for over 15 years, I took a leap of faith, got married, moved out of state and fell in love all over again with my sewing machine. I get inspired by all that is around me : friends, family, rice pudding , vintage ( I serously wish I could time travel to just nab the amazing clothes from every era!!) and the countless magazines that keep accumulating in my husband's garage (sorry hun!). The items here are all a labor of love. As with any labor, there are the pains of having to change countless broken needles, ripping appart unacceptable stitching, pressing and smoothing until I am absolutely satisfied with the final product. My goal is to make sure you have a durable and unique item, so that you can enjoy it for as long as you own it."

the Yarn Kitchen

Purple felted bowl / Three little bowls in pink, purple and violet
"Welcome to the Yarn Kitchen, I absolutely love natural fibers, yarns and fabrics. 40 years mum, I come back to DIY projects after a number of years totally absorbed by my day work and family. A felt class open the door .... and I'm here to share with you my passion. You will find here "only with my hand" made stuff. I like crocheting, knitting and felting. I like to sew bags, natural and eco fabrics, bright colours with a hint of ethnicity and sure I like cooking, maybe one day or another I'll start to sell sweet treats ;-). My home studio is becoming more and more like a magpie's nest. I just can't resist buying beautiful yarn coming from autoctonal breeds, or fabrics from everywhere (I'm on the way to 0 km but sometimes....I just can't resist!) in the world. I make felted placemats, bowls and vases and a number of bags that I can't keep all for myself so I want to try on Etsy. Peek inside my shop just to say hallo and chat a little together, I'm here!! Oh and if you want to see what I do in my "real" work have a look here: www.head-hands.com, I'm a web designer."
