Marley & Me

So, our neighbors rented Marley & Me and let us watch it last night... The first part of the movie was so stupid. I'm not a big fan of Owen Wilson to begin with, but he does so much talking and narrating... it gets annoying. Then the end is so incredibly sad... anyone watching would be bawling, anyone. I could so relate to the movie, as we had to put Hunter to sleep & did the same as they did in the movie: wrapped him and burried him. I "nursed him back to health" and we were forced to put him to sleep. Anyways, I recommend that anyone with a dog (especially a lab), anyone who loves dogs, or anyone who loves animals NOT watch this movie. Unless you enjoy movies with sad endings and like to bawl your eyes out, that is!

Summer days & Bunny masks

We've gone swimming in North River on Tuesday and again today. The water is so beautiful! I don't know why more people don't get out and enjoy the summer and nature like this, I guess everyone's lifestyles are so hectic and busy they don't have time to fart, let alone relax and go swimming in the middle of the afternoon! We have to try to get out as many times as we can before the summer is gone. It sure makes up for those cold winter days when we have to walk downtown on the icy sidewalks and the bitter wind that cuts right through you!
I'd like to remind people about those days when they complain about the heat!
I'd love to find a bunny mask similar to this one pictured. Full faced & slightly creepy. I could definately take some interesting photos with it, especially if I use black and white or sepia tones... Anyone have any idea where to find one??

Tuesday Night

I have lots of sewing to do, but I really, really don't feel like doing any of it tonight. I feel like I'm spending too much time on the computer - wasting time...
I think we all get that way after a while.
Big Brother is on tonight. That show is so stupid, but I always end up watching it each summer! I hope that they get rid of Natalie (I can't stand her!).
I bought the Seinfeld DVDs at Walmart (seasons 1 & 2), but found it for much cheaper on Ebay, so I returned the set I got at Walmart. Seinfeld is one of my favorite shows & I'd like to get all the seasons dvds eventually.

Abandoned House Mosaic & Poem

"Abandoned House" a poem by Jenny Archibald
An abandoned, empty house,
All that lives there now is a field mouse.
The windows are broken or boarded up,
On the ground is a drinking cup.
Imagine the generations of families that used to be
Now all that's left is their debris.
An apple tree stands by the side
When the windows were boarded, it cried.
No one left to pick it's fruit
No one to care if it takes root.
Long gone are these families now
The fields will never again feel a plow.
The weeds grow up high
As the house says it's final good-bye.
It was once filled with love & laughter,
Now that's all it longs after.
The roof now leaks
As if tears running down it's cheeks.
An abandoned house - so sad
Where is the family it once had?
