Birds & Mermaids Tip-in Pages

Illustration Friday - Heavy

Art Journal Tip-in Page , Mermaid

A tip-in page for a friend to add to her art journal. I love mermaids and painting them, so I had to do one for her as she love the seashore, too. I'm not thrilled with how the "waves" came out, but I think you get the general idea.
The quote at the top says: "Sit in reverie, and watch the changing color of the waves that break upon the idle seashore of the mind. -Henry Wadsworth Longfellow"

Art Journal

I knew that I wanted to have some sort of scales for the theme of balance. I received some mail today and the sender's address label had a girl, similar to this one, holdong scales. I found inspiration from that tiny picture. Then, I couldn't think of what to put on the scales and all of a sudden, "work" & "play" came to me. I think all elements come together just right.

Art Journal

FLY:

First page of my art journal, themed "fly". painted in a very folk-artsy way in acrylics.

SOUL:

a soul themed art journal page. Painting inspired by the artist, Trey R. Barker.www.yarddogpress.com/images/Veil_Of_the_Soul.jpg

CONNECT:

The theme this time is connect. Puzzle pieces are painted in acrylics. I stamped the word "connect" on top with stamps that I made.

Illustration Friday - Garden
